Last Day of Internship

Monday, April 27

I cannot believe the day is here. It is the last day of the internship. I spent all day in the 3rd floor conference room finalizing everything. We distributed sweatshirts all day today. At 12:30 we have our last Look Good Feel Better event, so prior to that we set up. Melissa and I grabbed the women waiting in the lobby. We assisted in the workshop by helping remove makeup out of packages and just chatting with the women. We concluded today cleaning up and then Amy signed all of my documentation. We celebrated later that evening with a final dinner!

2.3.4 Adopt, adapt, and/or develop tailored intervention(s) for priority population(s) to achieve desired outcomes.

During my final day we had another Look Good Feel Better program in which I assisted in. This event is designed to support women undergoing cancer treatment to improve confidence through education on skincare and makeup. I helped with the vent set up and provided one-on-one assistance through the workshop.

6.3.3 Tailor message(s) for the audience(s)

During the Look Good Feel Better event, we had the presentation we created during it in the background that has instructions and guidance on how to use these products.

Reflection:

I am so grateful for the UCBC Cares Foundation and that the College of Public Health requires this internship. I find such value in what I did and have no clue what I would do or the person I would be without this experience. Thank you.
