Week of March 23

Monday, March 23

Wow, what an eventful work week! This morning we met at 800 and worked on our blogs a bit. We drove over to the Oconee building where Strollin took place to load both Molly and Amy’s car with supplies to bring back to our closet at breast. Then Melissa and I were tasked with cleaning and deflating the reusable balloons from this event. Needless to say, that took over 2 hours… but it was fine HA. Then Amy met us back at Oconee where we loaded her car again. We drove over to 800 where we ate lunch before heading to breast to do all the unloading. We reorganized all the leftover supplies and then headed out for the day!

Wednesday, March 25

Happy hump day! This morning we got right to work. Amy called and we had a meeting showing her all of our up to date social media posts and captions. She gave us a list of things that we needed to do or edit like logos, captions, donation methods, etc. So we booked out a conference room til 11 and got to work! Then we went on a QT soda trip and came back for lunch. After this we went back into the room and continued to work on social media. I organized leftover T-shirts from Strollin for Melissa to sell the rest of the week. Then Molly asked me to do a volunteer sweep. Essentially I ended up helping the front desk and people check in and chatting with the volunteers the entire time.

Thursday, March 26

Happy Thursday! I came into the office today and started working on the volunteer name tags with Caroline. This took a couple of hours because we had to sticker them three different ways and then put all 150 in absolute alphabetical order. Molly asked me to make a checklist for the CT/Radiation volunteer position so created that then laminated it and explained it to the volunteers. Following this Amy stole me. We went to her office where I scanned and made PDFs of a lot of recipes. It is tax season so Am  has been meeting with our accountant often. Then we went through all of the breast friends brunch silent auction receipts. We made sure all of the money was accounted for and compared the value to the price sold. We then headed up to lunch. Amy tasked me with getting the attendance down for breast friends. I went through all the check in sheets and gathered them into an excel, labeling them by sponsor, donors, and guests.

2.4.2 Develope materials needed for implementation

This week I assisted i the volunteer name tags which helps with the foundations sustainability and volunteer operations. I also created and laminated a Ct and radiation volunteer to do list. This ensures that our volunteers are always on task. I also helped in organizing a lot of left over materials from Strollin’ for redistribution toward other projects.

4.1.3 Analyze data obtained from evaluation methods

This week, Amy and I spent a whole afternoon reviewing the silent auction data from breast friends. This was tedius because there were different forms of payment and lot sof different gift baskets and names. We ensured final transactions were accounted for and compared the values of the items. We recorded this in an excel sheet. I also put down thelist of all attendees in an excel sheet because we would be workling more logistics next week for the whole event.

6.3.3 Tailor message(s) for the audience(s)

6.5.6 Use digital media to engage audience(s) (e.g., social media management tools and platforms

We used Amy’s feedback in our social media meeting to edit captions, logos and created a donation message for national doctors day that was coming up. This should help increase engagement. Content is up to date and scheduled for recent events,

7.3.4 Manage resources efficinetly and effectively

We did a lot of transporting, organizing, and disassembly still from Strollin for the Colon this week to our different locations. We did inventory counts to ensure we could reuse materials for the future events.

8.2.1 Demonstrate ethical use of data

We had to work ethically using the attendance and financial data from Breast Freinds. Amy and I ensured it was handled responsibly within the sheets.

Reflection:

This week was much more relaxing, as it was a lot of post event organization and evaluation on what we could do better. After having three large scale events in a  week I was truly able to see the effort that goes into making such azing things happen behidnthe scenes. I started doing logistical work which was new and even though my eyes burned from staring at the screen it is a good tool to get use to. I love helping with the volunteers and learning and meeting them so assisting Molly with anything she needs is always something I like to do. Cant believe there is such little time left.
