Today was a LONGGGG day!! This morning we met at the Gastro building because we had a meeting for the March Strollin’ for the Colon event at 9. I have lovely friends at the gastro building, so prior to the meeting starting I said hello to some peeps and then touched up my blog post. I also looked up what businesses were surrounding the GI building on our map because later Amy would like to confirm these and ask them about Strollin’ sponsorships. During the meeting, I was in charge of recording/ the end of meeting notes. I had to be incredibly dialed in the meeting to make sure I did not miss anything important that was said. I attended the Strollin’ event last year with one of my roommates for fun and so I know a lot about the event. When possible, I did add in some of my input like what activities and giveaway prizes would make the event stand out. This meeting took us to around 11am which was awesome, but we had so much work to still do. Melissa and I stayed at GI while Molly and Amy ran their errands and continued to work. This day was groundbreaking for us and our little calendar because we successfully planned out half of the year on social media. It was kind of hard to wrap our brain around planning a year worth of social media, but we can 100% have it done with our new system. Then Melissa had to leave, so before I drove us around to the other building while Melissa gathered the list of companies and sent them to Amy and Molly. I dropped off Melissa then picked up lunch before heading back to our main building. I chatted with Molly for a bit and showed her the content calendar before remembering I needed to make the Strollin’ meeting notes! I almost forgot! So I started grinding this out. I accidentally had the keys to Amy’s office so I went up to unlock it. I then did a couple of errands for her like bringing supplies over to our closet at the breast health building and then checking the mail. During my time at the breast health building I also needed to count the bags we had for our Look Good Feel Better event. This is an event that teaches women undergoing cancer treatment how to use different makeup and products like wigs and scarves. The event was supposed to be Monday, but obviously we did not have work and it was rescheduled for February 9th. The reschedule had a lot of women sign up and there are different bags for different skin tones so that was essentially what I was counting. Then I headed back to finish up the Strollin’ notes. The following day is Molly’s birthday so it was already almost 4 as I was waiting for her to leave so we could decorate for her. Before we started, I stamped some envelopes with the UCBC Cares address and then we put Strollin’ mail sponsors in the bag and I labeled what companies these were being sent to. For the last hour we used the decorations ordered off Amazon prior in the week and our dry erase board skills to make sure our space was ready for Molly’s birthday. It was a little past 5:30 when I headed home and I had been working since 8! Incredibly productive day.
