This morning was volunteer bootcamp! We got into the office and worked on our blogs about as well as social media content before we began. We met in a conference room to where we went over the volunteer handbook, volunteer roles, and app. Volunteers, both college and community are crucial to UCBC Cares program and increase patient support. UCBC Cares currently has 144 volunteers! After we toured the building again to see where each of the volunteer positions were and how to do them. Being knowledgeable in the role allows us to substitute in if that position is missing. There are two volunteers not the infusion floor, one in CT, one in radiology, and three greeting! After this, Melissa and I went to meet with Amy around lunch time as this took a majority of the morning. We went over more expectations and some of our content ideas. We ad Chick-Fil-A for lunch and it was phenomenal. After Melissa left, I headed down to a workspace to work on the monthly safe UCBC Cares newsletter, volunteer spotlights for the social media, and organized a tentative schedule of our expectations after our first week of onboarding has come to an end!
