This morning was the second day of my internship. I came in and worked on my blog and Melissa caught me up one what I missed the prior day. We had a lot of time in the morning to discuss how we wanted to delegate different tasks and events. Then we began working on the monthly newsletter. The purpose of the monthly newsletter is to inform the entire staff about the different events UCBC Cares is doing, the important dates or cancers of the month and prevention methods, as well as how to get support from the UCBC cares team. We then met Amy to go over the Breast Friends Brunch event. We were tasked with going through all the forms of communication to see who was donating what, who reached out and if we have or haven’t already received them. This took a good bit of time. Following this, we went into full depth on our schedule and expectations of our content. We will attack the year in quarters and every week on Monday have a meeting. We juggled ideas back and forth during this as well. Following this we had lunch as a team and then went back to work. I assisted Amy with a couple of QR codes and wrapped up the newsletter to hopefully be sent out by next Tuesday. Then I went home and grabbed a projector for a task in the future and dropped it back off. That concluded my Wednesday.
